Get in Touch

This is a private reference site, not the Sheriff, jail, court, or another government office. We cannot confirm custody, release anyone, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the government custodian for those services.

Choose the Right Record Source

  • For a booking record or photograph, begin with the county records guide.
  • For MI-VINE custody status and release notifications, use the VINELink Inmate Check.
  • For same-day information, review the Daily Arrest Report; for a longer window, see the Weekly Arrest Log.
  • For a sentenced Michigan prisoner, use the Michigan Department of Corrections OTIS search. Federal Bureau of Prisons and ICE locators cover their own systems, not the Gladwin County Jail.

Gladwin County Sheriff and Jail

Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office
501 West Cedar Avenue
Gladwin, MI 48624

Main and non-emergency: 989-426-9284
Fax: 989-426-1173
Jail administrator Matthew McGourty: 989-426-7121

Mail for the jail uses the same 501 West Cedar Avenue address. The Sheriff lists selected lobby services Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Tuesday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Those hours are published for specified services, so call before relying on them for a records visit.

Reports and FOIA Requests

Send a focused Michigan Freedom of Information Act request to cosheriff@gladwincounty-mi.gov. Identify the person, approximate arrest or booking date, record sought, and preferred delivery method. The Sheriff lists police reports at $10 for the first page and $1 for each additional page. FOIA charges vary, so ask for an estimate before processing.

The courthouse is at 401 W Cedar Ave, not the jail’s 501 W Cedar Ave address. Direct court-copy questions to the relevant court rather than sending them to the Sheriff.
